MFMR freshwater hatchery project continues Featured

The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources Freshwater Fish Hatchery development project at Aruligo, North West Guadalcanal Constituency is going full steam ahead with the ministry again calling for eligible contractors to submit their bid.

Work on the project started last year with Phase 1 now completed. Phase 1 included the contruction of an office complex and pools.

Work on a perimeter fencing has already started and now the Ministry is calling for new tender. The new tender notice issued is for other work within this project.

Winning bidders will be responsible for the provision of Off Grid Solar Power, design, Supply and Installation, Water Supply, Storage and Reticulation works and Fish Pond Construction.

The Ministry of Fisheries and the New Zealand government which co-funded the project are keen to see the momentum going despite the global threat caused by Covid 19 pandemic.

The Ministry of Fisheries is quietly confident the freshwater hatchery will be ready for use by 2021.
